Association Between Patients With Congestive Heart Failure And Serum Cardiac Troponin T

Objective: To determine whether the level of serum cardiac troponin T(cTnT) wasincreased in patients with congestive heart failure(CHF), to study the relation and thesignificance between the high-degree of cTnT and the seriousness of heart-ailure.Methods: This study consisted of 139patients with CHF and 71healthy people.Serum cTnT was measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay withElecsys2010 automatic analyzer. The measurement data was analyzed statisticly byQ-test and enumeration data by chi-squere test.Results: cTnT concentration was 0.171±0.056ng/mL in CHF patients and 0.004±0.001ng/mL in controls(p＜0.001). Patients were categorized according to the levels ofheart function and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).In the first group including 56patients with LVEF≤35%,cTnT was 0.331±0.241ng/mL.In the second group including83patients with LVEF＞35%,cTnT was 0.065±0.042ng/mL(p＜0.01). In patients withNYHA classⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ, cTnT values were 0.052±0.023ng/mL, 0.117±0.102mg/mL,0.203±0.192mg/ml, 0.397±0.216mg/mL respectively(classⅠvs classⅡp＞0.05, classⅡvs classⅢp＜0.01, classⅢvs classⅣp＜0.01). A negative correlation was observedbetween serum cTnT concentration and LVEF in 139patients with CHF(r=-0.491,p＜0.001)Conclusions: This study shows that serum cTnT was increased in patients withCHF and that the level paralleled the severity of CHE The density-examing of cTnT canbe regarded as one of the major foundations by that to judge te worseness andimprovement of CHF, to differentiate the dangerousity of CHF patient,and to guide theclinical treatments of CHE...
