Study To The Index System For Synthetic Evaluation From Academic Level Of Medical Journal

[Objective] To construct a system of index for syntheticevaluation, try to evaluate the academic level of medical journalsynthetically, so that the scientific and technical worker can choose thejournal and use their information objectively and correctly. Thedepartment of journal and the management of scientific technology canalso evaluate the journal fleetly based on it. Otherwise, it makesscientific and technical journals and researchers know their personaleffect of learning.[Method] The information is from "Chinese Scientific andTechnical Journal Citation Reports 2003(CJCR)", which is edited byInstitute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, and publishedby Scientific Technical Document Press. 10 medical journals have beenpicked out from 476 kinds of source journal of Chinese Scientific andTechnical Papers and Citations. There are 8 indexes include total cited,impact factor, other cited, cited half life, etc. And 5 kinds of methodinclude analytic hierarchy process, technique for order preference bysimilarity to ideal solution and rank sum ratio, etc. have been choose toevaluate these medical journal from the angle of academic level.[Result] An index system includes 2 levels and 8 indexes havebeen built initially after counseling expert and combination with professional knowledge. The matrix of judgment for the entire index hasbeen established to decide the weight of every index after counselingexperts. Then calculate the weight of every index with using Saaty'smethod. It shows that the consistency of every index and results ofevaluation are all satisfactory when confirmed with Spearman rankcorrelation test.[Conclusion] The research shows that the index system which isincluded by 2 levels and 8 indexes, can be used in the syntheticevaluation of medical journal, and has got satisfactory consistency, italso can decrease the deflexion caused by neglect excessively to thequantity of information.
