Objective:To investigate the distribution of cagA,vacA and babA2 genotypes of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)in patients in Hainanarea with chronic gastritis, pectic ulcer, gastric cancer so as to study the predominant genoypes of H.pylori and the difference of genotypes in H.pylori-associated gastroduodenal(?)seases in the Han group of Hainan. Methods:Directly extracted DNA of H.pylori from the samples of gastric mucosa in 176 cases with gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. Then, cagA,(?)acA and babA2 genotypes of H.pylori were determined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).To analyse the differences of cagA,vacA and babA2 genotypes in H.pylori in different g(?)stroduodenal diseases by chi-square test. Results:The positive rates of cagA,babA2,vacA(?)1,vacAm2,vacAs1/cagA,vacAs1/babA2,cagA/babA2, vacAs1/cagA/babA2 genotypes of 1(?)6 cases H.pylori strains are 72.72%(128/176),54.55% (96/176),73.30%(129/176),67.05%(118/176),65.34%(115/176),51.70%(91/176),50.00% (88/176),and 51.14%(90/176),respectively.Higher positive rates of vacAs1,cagA, cagA/vacAs1 genotypes were observed in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer than those with chronic gastritis(P<0.05).There was no difference in other genotypes among different gastric duodenal diseases(P>0.05).Conclusions:cagA, vacAs1,vacAm2,vacAs1/cagA are prdominant genotypes of H.pylori in Han group of Hainan province.Patients with chronic atropl(?)c gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer occurred more frequently in cases infected H.pylori with cagA or vacAs1 or vacAs1/cagA genes. No associations between babA2 genotypeand coexistence of babA2 and cagA or vacA genotypes and clinical outcome of H.pylori infection were confirmed in our study.
