Objective: This study was carried out to determine the isolation rate and serotyping ofUreaplasma urealyticum among healthy infants of their urogenital tract. To discuss itsepidemiology in healthy population. Methods: 400 infants of their urine were collected., all specimens were cultured bycommercial Ureaplasma ureslyticum selective liquid medium. The positive cases werethen clarified into biovars and serotypes by PCR method and restriction enzyme excision. The date was analyzed statisticly by SPSS12.5 statistical package.Result: 400 healthy infants were screened and 36 cases were found to be positive byculture, in 36Uu positive cases, 32were amplified and 4 were unamplified by PCR, thepositive rate of Uu in healthy infants was 8.00%. In 32 cases, 23 were Parvumbiovar(71.88%), 7 were Urealytieum biovar(21.88%), 2 were found to be mixture of twobiovars (6.24%),.In Parvum biovar, serotype 1,6,3/14 were 7cases(21.88%),11 cases(34.38%), 4 cases (12.50%) respectively. The mixed isolations of these four serotypeswere 1 easel(3.12%). 4.76% of male infants were positive for Uu(12/252),13.51% offemale infants were positive for Uu(20/148), The isolation rate of Uu between the twogroups has significant difference(x~2=9.70, P<0.05).Conclusion: Uu can be isolated from lower urogenital tracts of healthy infants, and theisolation rate is 8.00%. The main isolation boivar is Parvum biovar. The isolation rate ofUu in female infants is higher than in male. Uu colonized in lower urogential tract may bea common commensal organism.
