The Study Of HeWei Granule On Improving Gastrointestinal Motility,Quality Standard And The Security

ObjectiveOur aims are to establish a method for the quality control of two kinds of HeWei granule, and compared the curative effect between them, and to investigate whether HeWei granule II has toxicity to rats.Methods1,The recipes I was all extracted by using Water Extraction ,then made in granule after adding excipient .The Amomum Villosums volatizable oil in recipeII was abstracted by Supercritical Fluid Extraction, then was sprayed on the granule.2,The malt in recipe I and the Amomun Villosum in recipe II were identified by TLC.3,We compared the effects of two kinds of recipes on gastric emptying and small intestinal propulsion by measuring the rates of gastric emptying and intestinal propulsion by the method of nutritional semisolid paste.4,NS and Hewei granule were respectively administered in 2g/kg(low dosage), 16k/kg(middle dosage),32k/kg(high dosage)for 12 weeks, we investigated its toxicity to rats.Result1,The revelant spot in Malt and Bornyl acetate were identified by TLC.2,In excipient group, there was no significant difference in gastric emptying and small intestinal propulsion compared with control group, but these were all significantly increased in both recipe I and II (p<0.05) ; the control group and the excipient group had no effects on gastric emptying and small intestinal propulsion compared with Cisapride group, there were no significant differences between Cisapride and recipe I,II. Compared among recipes ,the gastric reminder rates of middle and high dosage was markedly decreased in recipe II than I (p<0.05) , but there was no difference in small intestinal propulsion.3,Only in recipe II with high dosage, treatment affected rats' taking food and body weight; in other recipes, there was no effect on taking food, body weight, the indexes of hematology and functions of the liver and kidney and so on ,as well as the coefficient of the organs.Conclusion1,These Quality standards are simple, accurate, can be used for the quality control of Hewei granule.2,Hewei granule I, II can both effectively improve gastrointestinal motility. granule II is more effective than granule I in promoting gastric emptying.3,Hewei granule II is safety, nontoxic and effective on improving gastrointestinal motility.
