Detection Of Healthy Individuals And Anaphylactic Patients Serum Tryptase Levels

Purpose:To establish Chinese healthy individuals' range of normal values of serum tryptase levels through detecting healthy individuals and anaphylactic patients serum tryptase levels, and to provide diagnoses supporting for anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock.Methods:Dividing healthy individuals into four groups according to age:the first group＜21 years,the second group is 21 to 40 years,the third group is 41 to 60 years,the fouth group＞60 years.Anaphylactic patients into five groups on the basis of disease:asthma group,eczema group,nephritis group,rheumatoid arthritis group,hepatic cirrhosis group.Collecting different death causes corpse heart blood 4 examples,to measure serum tryptase levels by the UniCAP 100 instrument(Pharmacia Diagnostics AB,Uppsala,Sweden).Results:(1)The Geometric mean of serum tryptase levels from healthy individuals is 2.69μg/L, 95 upper percentile is 6.00μg/L.To the serum tryptase levels of healthy individuals,male mean is 3.33±1.63μg/L,female mean is 2.80±1.40μg/L,there was no statistically significant difference to sex;Comparing between the four different age groups:the first,second,third group mean is respective 2.56±1.44μg/L,2.90±1.32μg/L,2.92±1.17μg/L,the fouth group mean is 3.87±2.04μg/L,there was obvious statistically difference between the fouth group and the others,the fouth group mean is higher than the others.(2)asthma group mean is 6.14±0.35μg/L,eczema group mean is 2.22±1.73μg/L,nephritis group mean is 0.80±0.21μg/L, rheumatoid arthritis group mean is 10.42±12.52μg/L,hepatic cirrhosis group mean is 3.13±1.73μg/L,healthy individuals mean is 3.06±1.53μg/L.The mean tryptase level in patients with asthma and rheumatoid arthritis is higher than normal levels.The serum level of tryptase in patients with eczema,nephritis and hepatic cirrhosis was within normal limits.(3)Four corpse had tryptase levels of 24.00μg/L,6.71μg/L,4.83μg/L,19.7μg/L respectively. Conclusions:(1)The Geometric mean of serum tryptase levels from healthy individuals is 2.69μg/L,range of normal values of serum tryptase levels is[0,6.00]μg/L.There was no difference in reference values related to sex,but there was difference in reference values related to age.(2)The mean tryptase level in patients with asthma and rheumatoid arthritis is higher than normal levels.The serum level of tryptase in patients with eczema,nephritis and hepatic cirrhosis was within normal limits.(3)serum tryptase concentration in three subjects who died of trauma and narcotics are more higher than normal levels,but serum tryptase concentration in one subject who died of artherosclerosis is within normal limits.
