Object: to study the therapy effect of Fu Fang Bai Hedecoction on eliminating damp-heat and deficiency of yin intreating chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG).Methods: 100 chronic atrophic gastritis patients classifieddamp-heat and deficiency of yin were enrolled as subjects, anddivided into two groups at random according to the randomnumber table by the sequence following the patient's order. 50 cases belonged to the treatment group (28male, 22female, age from32 to 75, the average age of55.1±11.51; course of disease from 2 months to 40years. The average of course of disease 8.42±8.34years), 14 with the infection of Hp, 27 with IM, 5 withATP; 50 cases as control, were San Jiu Wei Tai Ke Litherapy (27 male, 23female, age from 30 to 77, theaverage age of 59. 12±10.61, course of disease from 3months to 40 years, the average of course of disease8.47±7.92 years), 10 with the infection of Hp, 20 with IM,9with ATP. All 100 patients were examined by thegastroscope and histopathology. The bioposied specimens ofall patients were obtained from the mucosa of gastric antrum. FU Fang Bai He decoction (FFBH) on eliminatingdamp-heat, replenishing yin was given to the test group. SanJiu Wei Tai granule (SJWT) was administrated to the control.Result: 1.As table 1: clinical theraphy effectcomparison of before and after treatment of the two groups,value=7.336, 0.007<0.05, indicating the test group comparingthe control group was statistically different (P<0.05), thetherapy effect of the test group (FU Fang Bai He decoction)being superior to the control group (San Jiu Wei Tai granule).2.As table 2: syndrome effect comparison of before andafter treatment of the two groups, value=11.793,P=0.001<0.05, indicating the syndromes effect change ofbefore and after treatment of the test group comparing thecontrol group was statistically different (P<0.05), the testgroup (FFBH) being superior to the control group (SJWT).3.As table 3: the main symptoms change comparison ofbefore and after treatment of the two groups included gastricdistension and fullness in chest and hypochondrium, painfulstomach, dry mouth and bitter taste in mouth, belching andcasting up of gastric acid, poor appetite and dry feces, theirrespective results: value=12.042, 18.086,23.804,12.846,16.011,11.093, P=0.001,0.001,0.001,0.001,0.001,0.001.Indicating the main symptoms change of before and aftertreatment of the test group comparing the control group wasstatistically different(P<0.05), the test group (FFBH) beingsuperior to the control group (SJWT). 4.As table 4: gastroscope integration comparison ofbefore and after treatment of the two groups, Before and aftertreatment of the test group respectively were 1.78±0.68, 0.94±0.62; Before and after treatment of the control grouprespectively were 1.88±0.56, 1.54±0.71. Doing T test of twogroups, mean of the test group was 0.84 and mean of thecontrol group was 0.34, 0.84>0.34, T=5.2837,P=0.00<0.05, Indicating the test group was statisticallydifferent from the control group (P<0.05), the gastroscopeeffect of the test group being superior to the control group.5.As table 5: the histological change comparison ofbefore and after treatment of the two groups. On chronicinflammatory, gastric gland atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, their respective result; x~2=30.136,21.007,6.170,P=0.001,0.001,0.013<0.05, but for ATP:P=0.505>0.05, indicating for the histopathology on chronicinflammatory, gastric gland atrophy and intestinalmetaplasia, the therapy effect of the two group werestatistically different (P<0.05), The test group(FFBH)wassuperior to the control group(SJWT). But for ATP, they werenot significantly different in the therapy effect (P>0.05).6.As table 6 H.pylori eradication efficiency comparisonof before and after treatment of the two groups,value=10.286, P=0.001<0.05.Indicating for Hp eradication, the therapy group was superior to the control group. 7.As table 7: the relation between change efficiency ofclinical symptoms and course of treatment, the related test:Y=5.2381+1.5714X, the coefficient=0.9986, P=0.334<0.05, indicating the efficiency of two group related to thecourse of treatment and improved with the course increase.value=4.884, P=0.027<0.05. Indicating the efficiency of thetest group comparing the control group was statisticallydifferent (P<0.05), the test group(FFBH) being superior tothe control group(SJWT) when the course of treatmentincreased. Conclusion: After the therapy by FFBH with function ofeliminating damp-heat, replenishing yin and regulatingstomach. The effect on eradicating Hp, relieving symptomsand positive sign, relieving chronic inflammatory, gastricglands atrophy and intestinal metaplasia were statisticallydifferent and significantly effective comparing the control. Butfor ATP, the two group were not statistically different. So thefindings indicated: Fu Fang Bai He decoction(FFBH) wassignificantly more effective than San Jiu Wei Tai granule(SJWT) therapy of CAG.
