Objective To study invasive behavior mechanism and prognosis of oral squmas cell carcinoma (OSCC) and to find the biological foundation of making a proper treatment for OSCC by analysis the expression of P53,MMP-9 and TIMP-1 before and after intraarterial chemotherapy.Methods The specimens of 20 patients with OSCC before and after intraarterial chemotherapy were examined by using SP immunohistochemistry, The expression characteristics of above mentioned gene protein and clinical and pathological feature were determined and analyzed. compared between the two stages.Results Significant difference existed before and after intraarterial chemotherapy in p53,mmp-9, (P<0.05=), but no significant difference existed in timp-1. Mutation of the p53 gene expression showed significant correlation with histological grades of OSCC (P<0.05) , curative effect (r=-0.45815 ,P<0.05) and lymph node metastasis (r=0.53443 ,P<0.05) No statistical significance was observed in mutation of the p53 gene expression in clinic stages and patient sex, age (P>0.05). MMP-9 expression had significant relationship with clinic sgtages (r=0.52072,P<0.05) ,curative effect(r=-0.50473,P<0.05)and lymph node metastasis(r=0.71749 , P<0.05) ,except with histological grades of OSCC , patient sex,age (P>0.05); There was significant correlation in TIMP-1 expression with clinic sgtages(r=-0.46161,P<0.05) ,curative effec(tr=0.99119,P<0.05)and lymph node metastasis(r=-0.48666 ,P<0.05) except with histological grades of OSCC , patient sex,age (P>0.05); No statistical significant was observed between P53 and TIMP-1 (P>0.05) , and btween P53 and MMP-9 (P>0.05); A significant correlation was observed between MMP-9 positive stainning and TIMP-1 positive stainning. The same thing happened between MMP-9&TIMP-1 and intraarterial chemotherapy's curitive effect.Conclusion P53, MMP-9 and its inhibital TIMP-1 may play a key role in differentiation and progress of invasiveness in OSCC. Analysis of the expression characteristics of P53, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 and clinic and pathological features of OSCC may better conduct clinical therapy of OSCC.
