| Objective :To investigate the expressions and clinical significance of p-gp170 (p-glycoprotein) and of ki-67 (nucaeaiantigen) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) to explore the significance and relation of these two proteins with OSCC differentiation. Thus it can direct clinical chemotherapy of OSCC and provide the criterion of clinical therapy post recovery. Methods :1 SP immunohistochemical technique was applied to detection of these two proteins in 41 well-differentiated examples and 17 middle-differentiated examples of OSCC.2 Statistical analysis was conducted between them to investigate the correlation among p-gp170 and ki-67 and pathological grading of OSCC.Results :The expressions of p-gp170 and ki-67 in middle-differentiated OSCC are much higher than those in well-differentiated OSCC and notably correlated with differentiation of OSCC.1 P-gp170 takes on direct ratio with the malignant degree of OSCC. The more malignant OSCC is, the higher it expresses.2 Ki-67 takes on direct ratio with the malignant degree of OSCC. The more malignant OSCC is, the higher its proliferation index is.3 P-gp170 and ki-67 have some determinate dependability in OSCC. The proliferation index will be high if the drug resistance is strong in OSCC. Conclusions :1 The proliferation index of middle-differentiated OSCC is higher than that of well-differentiated OSCC.2 The middle-differentiated OSCC has a stronger drug resistance than well-differentiated OSCC.3 The expressions of p-gp170 and ki-67 are notably correlated with the malignant degree of OSCC. Detection of p-gp170 and ki-67 was significant in guidance of chemotherapy in clinical practice and prognosis judgement. |
