Object: To study the expression of DcR3 in human gliomas and the correlation between the expression and the pathological grades of gliomas, to explore the role of DcR3 in the tumorigenesis and progression of human gliomas, accordingly to provid some proof of theory for treatment of human gliomas.Method: The expression of DcR3 mRNA and DcR3 protein was detected in 70 primary human gliomas and 12 normal cerebral tissuses by using RT-PCR semi-quantity and Western Blot methods; immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of DcR3 protein in 83 primary human gliomas and 12 normal cerebral tissuses. Results: The expression of DcR3 mRNA and DcR3 protein have been detected in human gliomas but non in the normal cerebral tissuses, the expression level of DcR3 mRNA and DcR3 protein in gliomas of gradeⅢ~Ⅳwas considerably higher than those in gliomas of gradeⅠ~Ⅱ.Conclusion: 1. The expression of DcR3 have been detected in human gliomas but non in normal cerebral tissuses, 2. The expression of DcR3 may be correlation to the pathological grades of human gliomas. 3. The expression of DcR3 in human gliomas was considerably high. DcR3 may be invoived in the tumorigenesis and progression of human gliomas, and the mechanism maybe related to the immunol depression.
