Objective To investigate the characteristics and changes of time-intensity curve of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS)in the diagnosis of renal occupied lesions with injection of SonoVue.Methods 21 renal occupied lesions examined by conventional ultrasound underwent CEUS and SonoVue and CnTI techiques were used.The whole dynamic perfusion process of CEUS was recorded,and it was observed after ending CEUS.The region of interest was depicted with quantitative analysis software(QontraXt),the time-intensity curve was automatic draw by the computer to obtained correlated acoustic quantified parameters:the time-to-peak,the peak of the signal intensity,the sharpness of time-intensity curve and the area under the curve(AUC),The changes of quantified parameters of renal benign and malignant lesions were compared and analysed.Results Satisfactory and dynamic enhanced perfusion images were obtained in all of the 21 patients.The contour and the reletionship to perienchyma of the lesions were clearer during CEUS.the courser of the tumor and whether it had necrotic areas or intratumoral cysts were clearer.Most of lesions enhanced in the same time or lately with the cortex of kidney of themselves,the degree of enhancement were higher than the cortex of kidney of themselves or identical with them,the persistence time of enhancement were equal with the cortex of kidney of themselves or longer than them.The most difference between malignant and benign lesions was that the persistence time of enhancement,most benign lesions were equal with the cortex of kidney of themselves(5 / 8),while most malignant lesions were longer than the cortex of kidney of themselves(8 / 12).The renal pelvic carcinoma was different with others,it washed in quickly and washed out quickly.The shapes of the time-intensity curves were diverse.The curves appeared insufficient regulation in benign and malignant groups,but correspondently speaking,the benign group was slick and sly,low and flat,and the malignant group was wide and high.Ultrasonographic quantified parameters,the peak of the signal intensity in the malignant group were higher than those in the benign group(P<0.05),the time-to-peak in the benign group were higher than those in the malignant group (P<0.05),the sharpness of curve and the areas under the curve in the malignant group were significancely higher than those in the benign group(P<0.01)Conclusions With the time-intensity curve of CEUS,we can quantitative analysis the dynamic images,and we can do better in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the renal occupied lesions.
