Aim:To study the chemical constituents and biological activity of Avicennia corniculatum which is a mangrove species of Myrsinaceae family. Study the antioxidant activity and evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of Aegiceras corniculatum.Methods:1.The compounds were extracted by alcohol and isolated by silica gel column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by means of IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR,and FAB-MS spectral analysis.2.Different extractions from this plant were evaluated by ECL involving the establishment of H2O2-Luminol-CTMAB system to study the antioxidant activity of Aegiceras corniculatum.Measurement of the Environment was in double-distilled water and 95%ethanol,Vitamin C as a positive control.3.The anti-inflammatory effect of Aegiceras corniculatum was tested in the mouse's feet swell model induced by carrageenin;the inhibition of lipid peroxidation of carrageenan-induced acute swelling of the mouse's liver MDA were evaluated by thiobarbituric acid(TBA)method.Result:1.Nine compounds were isolated from Aegiceras corniculatum. They wereα-spinastenrol(1),stigmasterol(2),oleanolic acid(3),protoprimula-genin A(4),gallic acid methyl ester(6),stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7-a),α-spinasterol-3-O-β-D-glu-copyranoside(7-b),n-tetratriacontanol(8), n-dotriacontyl alcohol(9),gallic acid(10).Gallic acid methyl ester(6), stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7-a),α-spinasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7-b),n-tetratriacontanol(8),n-dotriacontyl alcohol(9) from this plant were reported for the first time.2.The bark and leaves extractions of Aegiceras corniculatum could scavenge H2O2.3.The results of anti-inflammatory activity showed that the stem bark extractions of Aegiceras corniculatum could inhibit the mouse's feet swell model induced by carrageenin. Compared with dexamethasone, the inhibition of Aegiceras corniculatum was lower.Hepatic lipid peroxidation results suggested that the ethanol extraction of Aegiceras corniculatum could increase the mouse's liver MDA,when the concentrations of up to a certain degree.Conclusion." Nine compounds were isolated from Aegiceras corniculatum. and their structures were identified.Compounds 6,7,8 and 9 from this plant were reported for the first time. The bark and leaves extractions of Aegiceras corniculatum could scavenge H2O2 markedly, suggesting that could be good antioxidant. The stem barks extractions of Aegiceras corniculatum could inhibit the mouse's feet swell model induced by carrageenin suggest Aegiceras corniculatum may have good anti-inflammatory activity.Hepatic lipid peroxidation results suggest mice given the stem bark extraction of Aegiceras corniculatum up to a certain degree, there may be liver injury.
