Kandelia candel L. (Acanthaceae), an important mangrove plant, botanical class is Rhizophoraceae kandelia, this category has only one plant, that is kandelia candel . Kandelia candel is a frutex or arbor, about 2-3 meter high, with stanchional root ,smooth brown bark. Kandelia candel distributes widely and mainly in India Thailand, Vietman, Malaysia, the south Ryukyu of Janpan. In China , kandelia candel distributes mainly in Guangdong, Guangxi , Fujian, taiwan, grows in the area of shallow sea and the zone of river percussive brine pan.It can grow to a single predominance community in a certain geography condition. Folk medicine indications include constringency, hemostasia, and anti-bacteria. The ethanol extrtion of kandelia candel's root can be use to treat rheumatic arthritis, The ethanol extrtion of kandelia candel's fruit can restrain 3 plant pathogeny epiphyte- pxysporum,Heminthosporium sp.and Hemphyllium sp. . we paid our study interest in exploring chemical constituents and pharmacological activity of Acanthus ilicifolius that were collected from Sankou, Hepu, Guangxi, China. As a result, twelve compounds were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, low pressure Chromatography , and AB-8 Resin Adsorbing Method. On the basis of their chemical and physical properties, and spectral data such as IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and ESI-MS, ten of them were structurally elucidated as n-triacontanol(kc-1),erythrinasinate(kc-2),β-sitosterol(kc-3), betulinic acid(kc-4), sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoiside (kc-5), hentriacontanol(kc-6), staeri acid(kc-7), oleanolic acid(kc-10), quercetin(kc-11), rutin(kc-12). Compounds kc-1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12 were reported first time for their being isolated from this mangrove species. The antioxidant activity, evaluated as per the ability to scavenge H2O2, was detected for different extracts from both stem and root of this plant by ECL that involves the establishment of H2O2-Luminol-CTMAB system. Detections showed that the n-Butanol extract appeared the strongest activity of anti-oxidation. The active constituents may be flavones, phenols, anthraquinones. In the following study of n-butanol extraction fraction ,we get a flavone-quercetin. The anti-tumour activity, evaluated as per the ability to kill tumor cell, was detected for was detected for different n-butanol extracts and compounds.
