Objective: To evaluate the clinic utility of treating benign or malignant central airway tumors by interventional bronchoscopy, and study the therapeutic strategies.Methods:205 cases of benign or malignant central airway tumors were treated by interventional bronchoscopy.50 cases of benign central airway tumors, 155 cases of malignant central airway tumors. The therapeutic effects and complications were observed. Results: After the treatment , 50 cases of benign central airway tumors showed remakable improvement in clinical conditions.Airway obstruction, dyspnea were relieved. After the treatment for 3 months, 50 cases of benign central endobronchial tumors had no one in relapse.155 cases of malignant central airway tumors,152 cases showed remakable improvement in clinical conditions.Airway obstruction, dyspnea and relapsing infection were relieved.Complete response (CR)was achieved in 137/155(88.4%)of malignant tumors, and partial response was (PR)15/155(9.7%),none response was 3/155(1.9%).Treated group:MST 3.5 months,1-year survival rates 27.3%. Complications few,and all complications were cuerd. Conclusions:Interventional bronchoscopy treatment is well-established as an effective treatment for benign or malignant central airway tumors with minimal and manageable complications.
