Objective: To explore the pathological importance of expressions ofCaspase-8, Bcl-2, Bax and MVD measurement in non-small cell lung cancer. Methods: The stains of Caspase-8, Bcl-2, Bax and MVD were completed byusing the immunohistochemical method in 55 samples of paraffin sections ofnon-small cell lung cancer. Results: Positive expression of Caspase-8, Bcl-2 and Bax wereobserved in 54.5%(30/55), 60.0%(33/55) and 52.7%(29/55) respectively. The average microvessel density was (33.6±6.5)/HP. Positive Caspase-8expression was associated with TNM stage (P<0.001), lymph nodemetastasis (P<0.001) and infiltration depth (P<0.05). Positive Bcl-2expression was associated with the histological type (P<0.05). Positive Baxexpression was associated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). MVD wasassociated with TNM stage (P<0.001), infiltration depth (P<0.05) andlymph node metastasis (P<0.001). MVD in the positive Caspase-8 groupwas significantly higher than that in the negative Caspase-8 group (P<0.001). MVD in the positive Bcl-2 group was significantly higher than that in thenegative Bcl-2 group (P<0.001). MVD in the positive Bax was lower thanthat in the negative Bax group (P<0.05).Conelution: Caspase-8, Bcl-2, Bax and MVD can be considered an potentialbiological indicators of malignant grade of non-small cell lung cancer.
