Research Into Professor Zhou Zhongying's Academic Experience Of Treating COPD

This article is completed in his teacher, professor Wang Zhiying' guidance and in this article, the writer presents Chinese medicine etiology, pathology, syndrome and treatment rules of chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema disease(COPD) on the basis of the professor Zhou Zhongying' academic idea and clinical experience in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema disease.In the introduction, the author presents the definition, diagnosis occurrence, epidemiology and the treatment of COPD. At the same time, the respective superiority and inferiority of TCM and modern medicine. Moreover, the writer points out that Professor Zhou has accumulated affluent experience in the treatment of COPD, so this study of his academic idea and clinical experience is very important.In the first section, the author presents the cognition of COPD in ancient medical classics. On the basis of <>, the doctor have recognized the pathogenesis and syndrome of this disease, otherwise, they develop it throughout their clinical experience. So the later have the important experience in the differentiation of symptoms and signs.In the second section, the author provides a systemic statement on the clinical experience of Professor Zhou on treating COPD. In this article the author also presents respectively the pathogenesis, differentiation of symptoms and signs, syndrome and empirical medication. In the pathogenesis, the dificiency of the lung due to protracted disease is the basis of morbidity; exogenous evil and insidous phlegm are the importment reason of recurrence;pulmonasthenia and stagnant phlegm are key point of pathogenesis; in the main points of differentiation of symptoms and signs, the author discusses it in six point(staging of disease,the main sign,etiopathogenisis,pathogenesis,position,prognosis). In the appearance of this disease, the author summarizes 10 points and analyses common symptom briefly: In the points of therapeutical principle, he summarizes the treating feature of professor Zhou binding with typical example, and he thinks that we should "eliminate pathogen that stagnant phlegm when the disease is period of onset, and reinforce lung, spleen and kindey while catabasis", and when eliminating pathogen, do not forget strengthening body resistance, vice versa. He also thinks that we should apply compound methods in the treating of COPD. In the points of empirical medication, he introduces the distinct drug to COPD, such as Ephedra herb,pinelliae tuber,white mustard seed,Chinese honeylocust abnormal fruit,sun euphorbia herb,Herba Ardisiae Japonicae.In the third section, the author reviews the important development of the prevention and therapeutics of COPD in TCM that we have recently achieved, but there are many questions, too. At last, the author points out the development and the direction of the research of COPD.
