Objective: To investigate the correlations between expressions of integrin a6B4and invasion, metastasis in gastric carcinoma (GC), research the mechanism ofintcgrin a6B4 in GC development. Methods: Tissue samples were collected from 56 patients who underwentsurgery in our hospital from July 2005 to April 2006.56 normal gastric tissue wereused as control. The expressions of integrin a6B4 were detected in these samples byimmunohistochcmistry and RT-PCR methods, and the clinical pathological parameterswcrc anal yzcd. Results: 1.The expressions of integrin a6B4 in mRNA transcriptional level andprotein level in gastric cancer are higher than that in normal gastric tissue respectively.2. the expression of integrin a6B4 in mRNA transcriptional level and protein level ingaslric caneer arc connective with degree of its differentiation and lymph nodemetastasis. 3. the expression of integrin a6B4 in protein level in gastric cancer isassociated with its clinical stage. 4. There was no relation between the expressions ofintegrin a6B4 in protein level in gastric cancer and the size or depth of infiltration ofgastric cancer. Conclusions: The expressions of integrin a6B4 in gastric cancer were positivecorrelated with its differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage. Itsuggcstcd that the expression of intcgrin a6B4 was the advanced stage of gastriccancer, which may lead to its deterioration and metastasis.
