| Objective In order to study the events following kidney transplantation,we established a modified rat model of kidney transplantation. Method Wistar rats were used for kidney transplantation. Infusion was conducted at prime position. During orthotopic kidney transplantation, donor's renal artery and renal vein were joined to renal artery and renal vein of recipients with end to end anastomosis respectively and donor's urete directly implant in bladder of recipient. After first two months study, we overcame the difficulties including perfusion, vascular anastomosis,anesthesia and fluid replacement etc.we succeeded in accomplishing this model. Results it is a stable rat model of kidney transplantation. our operation success rate reached 88.8%. Conclusion The model could be repeated stably and be suitable for investigation of the immunity mechanism of organ transplantation.
