Objective: To investigate the expression of PTEN gene and FHIT gene and RB gene in gastric adenocarcinoma and their relationship to clinicopathological factors. Methods: Immunohistochemistry and image analysismethods (Envision) were used to detect the expression of PTEN gene and FHIT gene and RB gene in the 56 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma and their corresponding paracancerous normal tissues. Results: The positive rate of expression of PTEN gene,FHIT gene and RB gene in 56 gastric adenocarcinoma tissue were 41.1% and 46.4% and 48.2% , the paracancerous normal tissues showed all positive 100%; the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The expression of PTEN gene was correlated with the differentiation, range of invasion, lymph node metastasis. The expression of FHIT gene had no correlation with, range of tumor in invasion, lymph node metastasis, but was related with the degree of differentiation. The expression of RB gene had no correlation with, range of tumor in invasion, lymph node metastasis, but was related with the degree of differentiation. Conclusion: The expression of PTEN gene and FHIT gene and RB gene in gastric adenocarcinoma were all correlated with the differentiation. The expression of PTEN gene in gastric adenocarcinoma was correlated with the range of invasion, lymph node metastasis. The expression of FHIT gene and RB gene in gastric adenocarcinoma had no correlation with range of tumor in invasion, lymph node metastasis .Decrease or absence expression of PTEN,FHIT and RB proteins play an important role in the genesis and development of gastric carcinoma; the three proteins can be used to judge carcinomatous biological behaviors and prognosis.
