Applied Anatomy And Clinical Significance Of Posterior Interosseous Nerve

Objective:Detailed observe and measure numbers,length, dimension,relationship with innervating the muscle of branches of the posterior interosseous nerve,and the position,shape,structure of the entrapment of the posterior interosseous nerve.Provide anatomic data for clinical diagnosis,treatment of the entrapment syndrome of the posterior interosseous nerve.Methed:30 cases of adult cadaver forarms with formalinwere dissected.Measure with vernier calipers(0.02mm):①the vertical distance of origin of the posterior interosseous nerve and link-line of medical,lateral epicondyles of the fumerus;②the dimensions of origin of the posterior nerve;③the length of the radial tunnelpart of posterior interosseous nerve;④the length, origin of the branches of the radial tunnel part of posterior interosseous nerve;⑤the dimensions of the entrance of the supinator tunnel;⑥the vertical distance of the entrance of the supinator tunnel and link-line between medical,lateral epicondyles of the fumerus;⑦the dimension and length of the supinator tunnel part of the posterior interosseous nerve;⑧the dimension and length of the branth of the supinator tunnel post-part of the posterior interosseous nerve. The outcomes were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 software.Result:The supinator tunnel is composed of two opening, four wall. The entrance of the supinator tunnel is consisted of the arcade of Frohse and deep layer of the supinator.The exit of the supinator tunnel is maded up the distal margin of the supinator and the deep layer of the supinator.The anterior wall is the superficial layer of the supinator. The posterior wall is the deep layer of the supinator.The medical and lateral wall are the fuse-part of the superficial and deep layers of the supinator.The windth of the entrance is 10.55±2.11mm.The vertical distance of the entrance and link-line between medical,lateral epicondyles of the fumerus is 32.26±2.25mm;The width of exit is 6.92±2.02mm.The length of the supinator tunnel is 36.96±3.98mm.The contents of the supinator tunnel contain the supinator tunnel part of the posterior interosseous nerve,blood vessels and connective tissue.The origin of the posterior interosseous nerve locates anterolateral surface of the elbow, superior or inferior at link-line of medical,lateral epicondyles of the fumerus.The length the radial tunnel of the posterior interosseous nerve is 18.71±3.80mm from origin to the entrance of the supinator tunnel. The branches are distributed to the extensor carpiradialis brevis and the supinator.The width of the supinator tunnel part of the posterior interosseous nerve at the middle point of the supinator tunnel is 11.51±2.84mm.After the piercing through the supinator tunnel, the posterior interosseous nerve is divided into the superficial, deep branches to innervate extensor digitorum,extesor digiti minimi, extensor pollicis longus, extensorindicis, abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis.Conclusion:1.The posterior interosseous nerve were observed and measured in the paper. The new anatomic data were obtained to provide reference and help for clinical workers.2.Observe and measure the the arcade of Frohse, shape and structure of the supinator tunnel,discuss the relationship of these anatomic structure and the posterior interosseous nerve.
