Objective:To scrutinize alterations and clinical significance of Serum MBP and NFP-L after traumatic brain injury. Methods:The accelerating head injury was produced in rabbits by utilizing a free-falling weight impact.56rabbits were used in the actual experiment, divided into 4 groups;"A"as control group,"B" as mild injury group,"C" as moderate injury group,"D" as severe injury group.2ml of Blood serum were taken from each group at 4 different times;0.5h 2h,6h and 24h to examine the concentration of MBP ELISA and NFP-L by using Assay. In addition, gross pathology and microscopy observations were performed of brain injury. All datas were analysised statistically with completely randomized design multiple factor repeated measure of variance analysis and least significant differernce(LSD)test. Results:Statistical analysis revealed that the concentration of MBP and NFP-L after cerebral injury at different degrees had different concentrations with time advances. In moderate and severe-injury groups, the concentration of MBP at time advances;30 min,2h,6h,and 24h and injury degree was found to be higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),while in mild injury group there was no significant alterations(p=0.0935>0.05.However,concentration of serum NFP-L in moderate and severe-injury groups at time advances;30 min,2h,6h, and 24 h and injury degree was found to be lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),while in mild-injury group the concentration of serum NFP-L was found to be lower than that of the control group only after 24h of brain injury (P<0.05),where at 30 min,2h and 6h there was no significant alteration(P>0.05).Conclusion:Rabbit serum MBP after brain injury in the 24 hours increased, and increased with the degree of injury.NFP-L is reduced, the more serious the injury, the reduction was significant. So can be used to judge the severity of the brain injury and the prognosis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of important reference value.
