Research On Surveillance Of Drug Abuse In Hunan Province

Objective:This study aims to know the prevalence and harm of drug abuse people in Hunan province who have accepted therapy or have not accepted therapy, so as to provide prevention and treatment measure with related government department.Methods:We conduct a survey objected to all drug-abstaining people from drug-abstaining institutions of the whole province in 2006 through "drug abuse surveillance questioners" which designed by National Drugs Surveillance Center. We have adopted spss15.0 to input the data, descriptive statistics in order to analyze Drug addicts basic situation, x~2 test to analyze differences between the reasons for drug abuse and employment situation,the source of drugs expense and marital status,The way access to drugs and marital status,the sources of drug expense and areas,the ways access to drugs and areas.Results:According to the report of 5587 valid drug abuse report forms, males accounted for 86.7%, females accounted for 86.7%. Males age at 31.09±6.44, female age at 30.51±6.76. Participants who are elementary school and junior high school educated account for 61.8%.Among drug abused people, the proportion of unmarried is 53.4%; unemployed account for 71.3%, the drugs which abused frequently are heroin (32.7%) , people have once used co-injectors accounts for 38.0%, manners of drug abuse mainly include mainline (50.0%) and hit the pipe (37.6%) .The reasons for drug abuse are varied in groups with different employment situation (x~2=837.72, p=0.000) . The main reason for the drug abusers is to meet curious sense,the pursuit of euphoric stimulationemptiness boring.The source of drugs expense are varied in groups with different marital status (x~2=529.53, p=0.000) .The main source of drug charges is personal income.The way access to drugs are varied in groups with different marital status (x~2=2282.17, p=0.000); the main means of access drug are the companions to offer and the access to places of entertainment.The sources of drug expense are varied in groups in different areas (X2=3543.29, p=0.000) .The ways access to drugs are varied in groups in different areas (x~2=1165.51, p<0.01) .Conclusions:1. Hunan drug abusers primarily male, under 35 years old, unstablemarriage or unmarried, cultural or below junior high school and no workers as the main body; drug abuse for most varieties of heroin, stable category, tramadol, Triazolam; the main form of drug abuse for intravenous injection and iron absorption.2. The reasons for drug abuse are varied in groups with different employment situation.3. The source of drugs expense and the way access to drugs are varied in groups with different marital status.4. The sources of drug expense and the way access to drugs are varied in groups in different areas.
