Objective:To compare the short term effect between transurethral monopolar and bipolar vaporization of prostate for the treatment of BPH of high risk, and evaluat to the effect and safety of treatment of BPH by bipolar vaporization.Methods:60cases were fractionate randomly two sets,30 cases belong to TUVP,the other belong to TUBVP.Except ages, course of disease, volume of prostate,PSA were compared before operation, the bleeding, the absorption of irrigation liquid, operation time and pre- and post-operation IPSS QOL PVR were compared between monopolar group and bipolar group. There were all followed up 6 months. Results:There is no evident difference in effect of change of IPSS QOL PVR in two groups. The mean bleeding and absorption of irrigation liquid of monopolar group were 202.6ml and 1120ml,respectively,and bipolar group 58.8ml and 455ml.There was no TURS and BNC in bipolar group, but there was one TURS and one BNC in monopolar group.Urinary incontinence was not found in both groups. The washing time and length of stay(LOS)was shorter in bipolar group. Conclusion:There is no evident difference in effect of change of IPSS QOL PVR in two groups, and the mean bleeding and absorption of irrigation liquid was less in bipolar group, and the washing time and length of stay(LOS)was shorter in bipolar group, and bipolar vaporization is more safe.
