Correlation Between HRT-Ⅱ, OCT And Blue-On-Yellow Visual Field Defects In The Diagnosis Of Early Primary Open Angle Glaucoma

Object:This study was designed to study the blue-on-yellow visual field defects and optic disc parameter of HRT and OCT in patients with primary open angle glaucoma.Methods:Thirty eyes of 19 cases with primary open angle glaucoma,thirty eyes of 25 cases with suspected open angle glaucoma and Thirty eyes of 15 cases of normal subjects were examined by HRT-â…¡,OCT and Humphrey Field Analyzer.The parameters of HRT-â…¡included Cup Area,Rim Area,Cup Volume,Rim Volume, Cup/Disk Area Ratio,Linear Cup/Disk Ratio,Mean Cup Depth,Maximum Cup Depth,Cup Shape Measure,Mean Retinal Nerve Fibre Layer Thickness,Disk Area. The parameters of OCT included Vertical Integrated Rim Area,Horizontal Integrated Rim Width,Disc Area,Cup Area,Rim Area,Cup/Disc Area Ratio,Cup/Disc Horizontal Ratio,Cup/Disc Vertical Ratio,RNFL Thickness.The parameters of visual field included mean deviation and pattern standard deviation of blue-on-yellow visual field(B/Y visual field),mean deviation and pattern standard seviation of standard visual field(W/W visual field).The parameters of HRT-â…¡and OCT were analyzed for the correlation with parameters of visual field. Results:The mean defect of B/Y visual field and W/W visual field,most of the parameters of HRT and OCT were different from each group,except disc area,nasal RNFL and temporal RNFL.Cup Area and Max cup depth of HRT have no difference between suspected open angle glaucoma group and open angle glaucoma group,the pattern standard seviation of B/Y visual field and W/W visual field have no difference between normal group and suspected open angle glaucoma group.The mean deviation of B/Y visual field is deeper than W/W visual field,the differences in each group are4.714dB,5.625dB,7.288dB.There were linear correlation between them.The pattern standard deviation of B/Y visual field is deeper than W/W visual field,the differences in each group are 1.309dB,1.418dB,1.537dB.There were linear correlation between them.17 eyes which have no visual field defect examined by W/W visual field have been found visual field defects by B/Y visual field.There were correlation between the parameters of HRT-â…¡and the parameters of OCT,especially of Cup/Disk Area Ratio(r=0.725),Cup Area(r=0.637)and Rim Volume(r=0.468).There were correlation between the parameters of Optic Disc and parameters of visual field, especially of Horiz.Integrated Rim Width(Area),Vert.Integrated Rim Area(Vol)and Cup Shape Measure.The correlation coefficients between them and B/Y-MD are 0.415,0.415,0.328.The correlation coefficients between them and W/W-MD are 0.382,0.365,-0.366.The correlation coefficients between them and B/Y-PSD are -0.387,-0.381,0.265.The correlation coefficients between them and W/W-PSD are -0.359,-0.310,0.250.These parameters have closer correlation with the parameters of B/Y visual field than W/W visual field.Conclusion:Both HRT-â…¡and OCT can well reflect the changes by glaucoma of optic disc. Horiz.Integrated Rim Width(Area),Vert.Integrated Rim Area(Vol)and Cup Shape Measure can well reflect the glaucomatous visual field mean defect.The B/Y visual field find visual field defect earlier than W/W visual field.The parameters of HRT-â…¡and OCT have closer correlation with the mean defect and pattern standard deviation of B/Y visual field than W/W visual field.HRT-â…¡,OCT and B/Y visual field can discover the demages on optic never head by primary open angle glaucoma early.OCT do batter than HRT-â…¡in discovering defect of optic parameters.They can be used for early diagnosis of primary open angle glaucoma.
