Mao Cang-Zhu(Atractylodes lancea(Thunb) DC.),a plant of genus Atractylodes in Compositae,is a commonly used Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in southeast regions. It distributed widely in Jiangsu,Hubei,Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.Although it had been widely used,the study of its chemical constituents limited in volatile oils and the study of other chemical constituents is less.To understand deeply and use correctly,know more of its chemical composition,we carried out the study on chemical constituents of Atractylodes lancea(Thunb) DC.By using variety of modern chromatography separation technologies and analytical instruments,12 compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of rhizoma of. Atractylodes lancea(Thunb.) DC.,8 compounds of which were identified,including: atractylenolidⅢ(CZ-3),β-sitosterol(CZ-4),β-daucosterol(CZ-5),atractyloside A (CZ-6),3,4,11,14-tetrahydroxyguai-9-en11-O-β-D- glucopyranoside(CZ-7),(1S,5R,7R, 10R)-secoatractylolactone 11-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(CZ-8),Palmitic acid(CZ-9), (1S,4S,5R,7R,,10R)-11,14-dihydroxyguai-3 -one 11-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(CZ-11A), CZ-7 is new.Bai Zhi(Angelica dahurica(Fisch.ex Hoffm.) Benth.et Hook.f.var.formosana (Boiss.) Shah et Yuan),a plant of Angelica in Umbeliferae,is a commonly used Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in southwest regions.But the current study on the chemical constituents of Angelica dahurica had only focused on the lipid constituents,seldom on water-soluble constituents.To better utilize this traditional Chinese medicine,elucidate its chemical composition. a study on the water-soluble constituents of Angelica dahurica had been carried out.7 compounds were separated and identified;including 7-O-β-D-Apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-Glucopyranosyl-peucedanol (AD-1),(R)-peucedanol-7-O-β-D-Glucopyranoside(AD-2), aesculin(esculin)(AD-3),(3'R)-Hydroxymamesin-4'-O-β-D-Glucopyranoside(AD-4), sec.-O-β-DGlucopyranosyl-(R)-byakangelicin(AD-5),tert.-O-β-D-Glucopyranosyl-(R)-byakangelicin (AD-6),β-daucosterol(AD-7).Compound AD-1 and AD-2 were obtained from genus Angelica for the first time and Compound AD-3 was obtained from Umbeliferae for the first time.
