Objective:To know the characteristics of testicular pathological changes of azoospermia with AZF microdeletions, and how testicular dyszoospermia was developed by AZF microdeletions, and to provide clinical therapeutic theory for the patients with AZF microdeletions.Methods:16 cases of azoospermia with AZF microdeletions, aged 24-34, without other diseases which may cause azoospermia, were included in this study. To get enough testicular tissues,we used Vacuum Suction Rotating Cutting Biopsy Needle to puncture one testicle(right or left). Those tissues were put into Bouin fixation fluid immediately, paraffin section in routine method, and dyed with HE.The changes of spermatogenic epithelium, contorted seminiferous tubules limitans and interstitial were observed as well as the diameters of the contorted seminiferous and the limitans thickness were measured.Histological and pathological classification, which were based on the main pathological changes observed under light microscope, were decided in accordance with literature,as there is no accepted pathological classifying standard of testicular as yet. Results:In all of 16 azoospermia cases with AZF microdeletions, spermatogenic epithelium pathological change were observed,75%of all were found to have limitans pathological change,50%were found to have interstitium pathological change;8 cases had serious dyszoospermia,8 cases had inconvertibility dyszoospermia;8 cases had increased FSH and 6 cases had increased LH.Conclusion:In the azoospermia patients with AZF microdeletions, dyszoospermia were serious,it is hopeless to recover spermiogenesis function by drug. The testicular pathological change caused by AZFc microdeletion can be different, which may lead to dyszoospermia in various extent. It was often observed that increase of FSH and LH in the patients with AZF microdeletion.
