To Study The Relationship Between Color Doppler Flow Imaging, Matrix Metalloproteinase 7 And Cervical Carcinoma Angiogenesis

Objective:To explore the correlation between transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound,matrix metalloproteinase-7and microvessel density which is golden standard to assess tumor angiogenesis and to study the relationship between transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound,matrix metalloproteinase-7and clinicopathologic features in cervical carcinomaMethods:45 patients undergoing surgery for cervical carcinoma were enrolled.Transvaginal color Doppler flow imaging was performed preoperatively to detect the arterial blood flow signals within the tumors and the lowest resistance index(RI)value was recorded for analysis.The microvessel density and matrix metalloproteinase7 levels of excised tumor were assessed immunohistochemically, using the specific endothelial cell markers CD105 and monoclonal antibodies against matrix metalloproteinase 7.Results:Significantly difference RI values were noted in cervical carcinoma group compared with contrast group(P＜0.001).RI were associated with tumor diameter,stage status,pathologic grade,pelvic lymph node metastasis of cervical carcinoma.(P＜0.05).There were no relations between RI and patients's age,pathologic type.(P＞0.05).It was shown that positive rate of expression of MMP-7 and MVD marked by CD105 increased remarkably from NEC to CIN and then to ICC accordingly.MMP-7 were no associated with patients's age,tumor diameter,stage status pathologic type.(P＞0.05).There were relations between the expression of MMP-7 and pathologic grade,pelvic lymph node metastasis(P＜0.05).MVD and RI in the tumor showed linear negative correlation,(r=-0.92,P＜0.05),positive correlation with MMP-7(r=0.949,P＜0.05),RI and MMP-7 showed linear negative correlation(r=-0.884,P＜0.01)Conclusions:The angiogenesis character of cervical carcinoma can be showed by RI MMP-7 and MVD from different angle.RI and MMP-7 had some inherent connections with clinicopathologic parameters of cervical carcinoma.Transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound could accurately predict angiogenesis of cervical carcinoma preoperative.MMP-7 could be a index to judge malignant biological behaviour of cervical carcinoma.
