Objective:To observe the effects of free fatty acids(FFAs) on the proliferation and metabolism of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC).Methods:HUVEC exposed to Palmitic Na with different concentrations to analyze its growth activity by MTT method. Results:To compare with the control group, the growth of HUVEC exposed to Palmitic Na (250,500,1000umol/L) were inhibited. The differences of HUVEC's growth activity were significant(P<0.05).The inhibition of the proliferation increased with increasing concentrations. The differences between every treated group were significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:FFA could inhibit proliferation and metabolism of cultured HUVEC.
