An Experimental Study Of Influence On Bile Duct Healing Between Interrupted Sutures And Continuous Sutures

An experimental study of influence on bile duct healing between interrupted sutures and continuous sutures.Objective:Compare whether there are differences on bile duct healing after two different suturing methods on rabbits from pathological aspect.Method:36 rabbits were randomized in 2 groups with 18 in each.After the bile duct was cut off,we sutured the two sides with interrupted or continuous method according to the group.After that we observed the degree of inflammation and dropsy of bile duct wall from tissue slides,examined the diameter of bile duct at 0,3,7,14,30,60,90d..Immunohistochemistry of the healing part was used to investigate the expression of transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1) at the same time.Curves about the changes of inflammation degree of bile duct wall,diameter of bile duct and the expression level of transforming growth factorβ1 were drawn.Results:Inflammation and dropsy of bile duct wall happened in 3d after damage in all groups.The degree of inflammation and dropsy reached the peak in about 14 days, and gradually weakened after that.It achieved the stable level basically in 30d.The interrupted sutures method was more obviously all the time until to 90d,then they were equal.With time prolongation,the expression of TGF-β1 of bile duct wall increased gradually and achieves the maximum in about 60days,then it decreased gradually and returned to normal 90 days.The interrupted sutures method was more obviously all the time until to 90d,then they were equal.The thickness of the bile duct wall reached the maximum in 14d,and gradually decreased.The interrupted sutures method was more obviously all the time until to 90d,then they were equal.but thicker than normal finally.Conclusions:Under the circumstance of primary heal,the inflammation of interrupted sutures of bile duct is more obvious than continuous sutures within 60d. But there is no significant difference on 90d.
