The Effect Of Xuezhikang On Inflammatory Factors And Matrix Metalloproteinase In Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes

Objective:To observe the effect of Xuezhikang on serum levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),matrix metalloprotease-9(MMP-9),matrix metalloprotease-2(MMP-2) in patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS).Methods:Fifty-four patients with ACS were randomly divided into two groups:Xuezhikang group and atorvastatin group,which group would receive conventional drug treatment,such as aspirin,angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI),β-blockers and Nitrate drugs.At the same time,10 cases of age matched ACS were selected as a control.The serum level of hs-CRP,cholesterol(TC),triglyceride fiG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), (MMP-2) and MMP-9 were compared among all groups.Results:Before the treatment,there was no significant difference(P＞0.05) in serumlevel of MMP-2,MMP-9 and hs-CRP among Xuezhikang group,atorvastatin group and control group. The serum lever of MMP-2,MMP-9 and hs-CRP in the AMI patients were higher than in the UA patients(475.59±52.68 vs 358.98±62.36,P＜0.05;817.28±141.04 vs 501.58±0.52,P＜0.05; 14.14±5.76 vs 5.91±3.67,P＜0.05).After one week treatment,the serum level of TC,TG,LDL-C was remarkably decreased(4.15±0.89 vs 4.84±0.75,P＜0.05;1.24±0.56 vs 1.38±0.52, P＜0.05;2.50±0.83 vs 3.14±0.58,P＜0.05 ) in Xuezhikang group,atorvastatin group compared with thecontrol group(4.10±0.58 vs 4.84±0.75,P＜0.05;1.28±0.37 vs 1.38±0.52,P＜0.05; 2.43±0.45 vs 3.14±0.58,P＜0.05),but the levels of which had no significant difference in xuezhikang groups and atorvastatin groups(4.15±0.89 vs 4.10±0.58,P＞0.05;1.24±0.56 vs 1.28±0.37,P＞0.05;2.50±0.83 vs 2.43±0.45,P＞0.05).After one week treatment,there was remarkably decreased in serum level of MMP-2,MMP-9 and hs-CRP in both Xuezhikang group and atorvastatin group,compared with control group(265.47±62.82,241.35±47.18 vs 325.16±94.64,P＜0.05;395.80±93.99,388.53±74.05 vs 473.83±132.79,P＜0.05;3.80±2.98,4.01±2.52 vs 8.80±4.44,P＜0.05),but the serum level of MMP-2,MMP-9 and hs-CRP in xuezhikang group and atorvas-tatin had no significant difference(265.47±62.82 vs 241.35±47.18,P＞0.05;395.80±93.99 vs388.53±74.05,P＞0.05;3.80±2.98 vs 4.01±2.52, P＞0.05). Conclusion:Xuezhikang can decrease serum level of hs-CRP,MMP-9 and MMP—2 in patients with ACS.Xuezhikang may have a beneficial effect on steadying the plaque.
