Objective:To analyse the clinicopathological characteristics of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses malignant tumors in Yanbian area,and to provide scientific information for prevention nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses malignant tumors.Methods:The clinico-pathological data of 113 malignant tumors in nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses were retrospectively analyzed from 1981 to 2007 in our hospital,and all cases diagnosed with pathological examination.Results:1.The squamous cell carcinoma(SCCA),lymphoma and salivary gland-type carcinoma account for 44.2%,28.3%and 14.2%in 113 malignant tumors,respectively,and the male to female ratio was 1.30:1 and 1.94:1 in Korean and Han..2.The SCCA,lymphoma and salivary gland-type carcinoma accouted for 38.3%and 50.9%, 30.0%and 26.4%,15.0%and 13.2%in Korean and Han,respectively.3.The SCCA,lymphoma and salivary gland-type carcinoma accouted for 32.4%and 57.2%, 29.4%and 17.1%,14.7%and 14.3%in Korean and Han men,respectively.4.The SCCA,lymphoma and salivary gland-type carcinoma accouted for 46.2%and38.9%, 30.8%and 44.4%,15.4%and 11.1%in Korean and Han women,respectively.5.The average age in SCCA was 51.9 and 55.2 years,in lymphoma was 46.5 and 55.0 years (T=2.436,P<0.05 ) in Korean and Han men,respectively.6.The average age in SCCA was 54.5 and 58.4 years,lymphoma was 55.4 and 59.0 years in Korean and Han women,respectively.Conclusions:The most commen hisrology is SCCA in malignant tumors of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses,and followed lymphoma and salivary gland-type in Yanbian area.The histological types and average age were different between two different nationalities and gender, the average age of lymphoma was obvious yonger in Korean than Han men.
