| Laboratory education is one of the most important parts in medical education and it plays a key role in developing an ability of integrating theory with practice, scientific thinking, operational ability and serious work style etc in medial and nursing students and in achieving the goal of quality education and cultivation of innovative talents. Scientific evaluation on the teaching effect of the laboratory education is of utmost importance in guiding and facilitating the upgrading of teaching quality of laboratory education. However, for a long term, we have attached great importance on the evaluation of the classroom teaching of theoretical courses in medical education, while the evaluation on the laboratory education is still lag far behind. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a sound, scientific and systematic evaluation criteria system for the evaluation of teaching quality of medical laboratory education to upgrade the teaching quality of laboratory education and promote the construction of laboratory education. This study aimed to provide a scientific and effective evaluation equipment for the evaluation of the teaching quality of both medical and nursing laboratory education in the hope of improving the teaching quality of laboratory education as well as facilitating teachers' improvement in professional quality.Procedures and Methods: In view of the current laboratory education status in Chinese medical schools, a scheme on the evaluation of the teaching quality of laboratory education was constructed using target decomposition and categorization based on the meta-analysis of literature, investigation on the classroom teaching of laboratory education and forum of the concerned specialists. Based on the contents of our study, a total of 31 specialists in 6 domestic medical schools were selected. Using precedence chart and analytic hierarchy process, the criteria system was revised and improved after two rounds of specialist consultation, based on which an online evaluation system for the teaching quality was designed using computer technology, and this system was applied to the evaluation of the teaching quality of part of the laboratory courses in a military university, and the evaluation data were collected through establishing fuzzy synthetic evaluation mathematic model, meanwhile the internal consistence between the reliability of the subjects undergoing evaluation and the criteria system in the evaluation results was tested.RESULTS1. Two sets of evaluation criteria systems for the classroom teaching quality of medical laboratory education suitable for basic medicine laboratory education and that of the clinical skills had been established, and in each set of system, specialists, students and teachers were enrolled as the subjects undergoing evaluation.2. Based on the evaluation criteria systems, an online teaching quality evaluation system was designed, which enhanced the operability in the evaluation on the laboratory education and could be accepted by specialists, students and teachers in the evaluation.3. Four teachers who are engaged in laboratory education in a military university underwent the evaluation, upon statistical analysis, the evaluation criteria system has been proved to be quite scientific.4. A mathematical model on the quantization and gathering of evaluation data has been constructed and which ensured the accuracy of the evaluation results. |
