Study On Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Smoking Control In China

Cigarettes are hazardous to health in spite of their charming. With the in-depth study people found that smoking is enormous hidden danger to human health with its close relation to many diseases. Meanwhile, with the sociological research, smoking has been not only a personal liking but also gradually transformed into a social problem. A growing number of countries have already started to study both hazards of tobacco and the strategy of controlling tobacco. For instance, in some countries, laws were put into use to forbid smoking in public places in order to strengthen tobacco management, even smoking there is illegal. China is a big country of yield and consumption of tobacco, however people know little about the harm because of more less study and propagand than that overseas. This caused a sharp contrast on tobacco consumption between a rising trend here and a decreasing trend overseas year after year. At the same time, a variety of social problems caused by tobacco, have also drawn more and more people's dissatisfaction. Therefore, the government must conduct a more active intervention in tobacco control and further refine the countermeasures in smoking control.Focusing on Chinese lack of a profound understanding of smoking hazard, It expounded the ponderance caused by the harmfulness of smoking to the health through a series of scientific evidence. Through analyzing the current smoking status and the development trend in China, and the underlying reasons of poor tobacco control, China's tobacco control policy and strategy was put forward. Basing on this, a further investigation was done. Through analyzing a lot of experiences and practices of smoking control at home and abroad, we further explore the route and direction of China's tobacco control. The author combined her experience with the tobacco control and did an empirical study. Suggestions were brought forward on adopting different strategies and measures based on the different groups by analyzing their corresponding behaviors to reduce the harm of smoking.
