Prostate carcinoma is a common malignant tumor of urinary tract. In the United States, Canada and the other countries, prostate carcinoma is the most common malignant tumors in male which's mortality rate is the second in all cancer deaths among men .China is relatively low incidence of prostate carcinoma, only 2,41 / 100,000 male population, but recently with the aging of population, diet adjustment and technical improvement of diagnosis, there is a marked increase trend in the incidence of prostate carcinoma in male urinary tract, reproductive system , which's incidence skip to the third of malignant tumors . prostate carcinoma is quietly affecting the quality of life and life expectancy of the men over the age of 50 in China. Prostate-specific antigen as a relatively specific tumor marker for prostate carcinoma, since 1980 applied to the diagnosis of prostate carcinoma, has been used more and more early stage prostate carcinoma screening, therapeutic assessment, and determination of the disease prognosis. Objective: To study on the correlation between serum PSA Level and Gleason grading of prostate carcinomaObject and methods: In this paper, we use the way of retrospective analysis, to collect the information of 130 patients with prostate carcinoma which was in our hospital from January 2004 to January 2009,and create the databases,Spearman rank correlationg was applied to evaluate the relationship between PSA and Gleason grading, to explore the relationship of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and Gleason grading of prostate carcinomaResults: 130 cases of patients, serum PSA Level was positively correlated with Gleason grading of prostate carcinoma. (R = 0.354, p <0.01).Conclusion: The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) as an predictor of the diagnosis, it has a positive correlation with the pathological grade of prostate carcinoma which can be indirectly reflected in the pathological grade of prostate carcinoma to assess the progress and prognosis and supply help for the comprehensive treatment of prostate carcinoma .
