It is well known that the cardiovascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis (AS) severely damage people nowadays. Its morbidity and mortality tend to rise year by year. AS not only affect coronary and cerebral arteries, but also affect peripheral arteries as well. Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD), ischemic stroke and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) are important manifestations of systemic atherosclerosis. AS is a comprehensive and chronic process that involves endothelial cells injury, artery endomembrane thickening, fatty streak formation, intercellular layer injury and fibrous plaque formation. Finally composite plaque will emerge. Therefore early finding and early interference of vessel wall lesion are important measures to delay and control the cardiovascular event and discriminate high risk group that were in danger of cardiovascular diseases. Recently, some noninvasive detect technique of vascular lesion developed rapidly such as ankle-brachial index (ABI), pulse wave velocity (PWV), capacitive arterial compliance (C1), and oscillatory arterial compliance (C2), cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) and so on. As literature reported, ABI would detect lower extremity vascular lesion with its sensitivity and specificity reaching 95% and almost 99% respectively.,we can diagnose on the basis of ABI,that may prompt other clinical feature of all body atherosclerosis. So ABI was a tool that can predict the cardiovascular event, and It can discover atherosclerosis earlier period. Positive interfering in risk factor would have important meaning. ABI is a cheap ,convenient ,reliable method。The main purpose of this paper is to obtain the diagnosis of atherosclerosis by investigating the ankle-brachial index (ABI) of the patients with hypertensive patiens ,and discussed the correlation of fibrinogen (FIB), blood fat,C reactive protein (CRP)and atherosclerosis caused hypertensionWe selected 101 hypertensive patients who first diagnosed hypertension and came to the cardiovascular branch of our hospital from May 2008 to December 2008. All the patients meet the standard of diagnosis made by WHO/ISH and then ABI were examined in these 101 patients. According to the results, the patients were divided into two groups, including group ABI≤0.9 and group 0.9
