Methods The expression of MMP-2 and PTEN and their correlation were detected for the specimens of 40 Osteosarcoma and 20 osteochondroma with immunohistochemistry S-P method. Results The positive rate of MMP-2 was 65%(26/40) in Osteosarcoma group and zero in osteochondroma group with a significant difference(P<0.01).The positive rate of PTEN was 55%(22/40) in Osteosarcoma group and 90%(18/20) in osteochondroma group. There was a prominent difference between them(P<0.05). Negative correlation was observed between the expression of MMP-2 and PTEN in Osteosarcoma. Conclusion MMP-2 and PTEN may play an important role in the carcinogensis and development and invasion and matastasis in Osteosarcoma. The detection of them might be s guide for early diagnosis and a determinant of malignancy and prognosis of Osteosarcoma. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Osteosarcoma, MMP-2, PTEN, Immunohistochemistry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
