Objective:To evaluate the effect of hair loss on anxiety,depression and quality of life.Materials and Methods:1.The patients were divided into three groups:androgenetic alopecia (AGA)group(n=437),alopecia areata(AA) group(n=178) and control group (n=434).2.To evaluate and classify the patients of androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata.3.Once agreed,participants were given Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI).4.Statistical analysis were performed by one-way ANOVA and LSD-test.Results:1.The index of SAS in AGA and AA groups were higher than that in healthy volunteers(P<0.05).There were no significant differences of the index SAS between AGA and AA(P>0.05).2.There were no significant differences of the index of SDS between three groups(P>0.05).3.The index of DLQI in AGA and AA groups were higher than that in healthy volunteers(P<0.05).The index of DLQI in AA group was higher than that in AGA group(P<0.05).4.All the index of female patients were higher than that of male patients. Conclusion:1.Compared to the healthy volunteers,patients with hair loss could be in the anxious state.But this research proved no evidences for the depression mentioned in other researches.2.The quality of life of patients with hair loss was affected,which was worse in AA patients than that in AGA patients.3.Female patients were affected more severely than male patients in anxiety, depression and quality of life.
