Objectives:To observe the sensitivity of the circulating platelet-monocyte aggregates (PMA) and platelet aggregation rate(PAGT) in patients with cerebral infarction(CI) and to explore the role of PMA in the thrombosis.Also to investigate the relationship between PMA and different types of ZHENG SU on nature of disease.So as to testify the feasibility TCM macroscopic differentation with PMA.Subjects and methods:The level of circulating PMA and PAGT were measured in 74 in patients with CI from July 2007 to February 2008,among which 43 were male and 31 were female.The average age was 68.84±11.32.According to the TCM differentiation diagnose criterias and PRC national standards,the ZHENG was diagnosed by clinical physicihns,6 ZHENG SU were selected on nature of disease from the ZHENG SU differentiation diagnose system,which were FENG ZHENG,HUO RE ZHENG,TAN ZHENG,QI asthenia ZHENG,XUE stasis ZHENG,YIN asthenia ZHENG.At the meantime,the scores of neurological function impairments was observed and serum lipid,blood glucose, and fibrinogen were measured.Results:1.The PMA's sensitivity was 93.42%,while PAGT's was 36.76%in 68 CI patients. The two indexes' sensitivity were significantly different,PMA was more sensitive in CI patients(P<0.001).And PMA has no obvius correlation with PAGT (r-=0.10,P>0.05).2.The PMA level had on relationship with neurological function impairments, serum lipid,blood glucose,and fibrinogen(P>0.05).3.The PMA level had no significant connection with the onsetting time.4.The PMA level had a significant relationship with FENG-XUE stasis ZHENG,QI XU-XUE stasis ZHENG and HUO-QI XU ZHENG(P<0.05).PMA level induced in much more CI patients with FENG YU ZHENG or QI XU XUE YUE ZHENG.Conclusion:PMA is more sensitive than PAGT in CI patients,also in FENG YU ZHENG,QI XU XUE YUE ZHENG by differeing ZHENG SU on nature of disease.The significant sensivity of PMA in CI strongly suggested that PMA was involved in thrombosis.Measuring circulating PMA level can help predicting Cerebrovascular Diseases events. We need improve our study on the relationship between PMA and ZHENG SU differentiation diagnose,so that we could may find out a new marker for making TCM diagnose objective.
