Objective To study the relationship between the plasma concentration of fibrinogen(Fib),von Willebrand factor(vWF) and platelet aggregation test and neurologic impairment and infarction volumes in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods 62 patients (male 40, female 22) with acute cerebral infarction served as the experimental group were enrolled in this study, whom were hospitalized in the Department of Neurology in our hospital from January 2009 to May 2010, and 50 healthy volunteers (male 21, female 29) were served as the control group, respeectively. The concentration of Fib,vWF and platelet aggregation test in plasma were measured , and an analysis of the neurologic impairment and cerebral infarction volumes were done. Results The levels of plasma Fib,vWF and platelet aggregation test were significantly higher in patients with acute cerebral infarction than in healthy controls(P<0.05), and in positive correlation with the neurologic impairment and cerebral infarction volumes(P<0.05).Conclusion The plasma concentration of Fib,vWF and platelet aggregation test in patients with acute cerebral infarction were significantly elevated compared to healthy controls, which may be an important pathogenisis of acute cerebral infarction.
