The Supercritical Fluid Extraction(SFE) technology of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) such as Salvia Miltiorrhiza Bge and Schisandra chinensis were investigated. The aim of this study was to systematically clarify the applicability and superiority of SFE in the field of TCM.The main works can be summarized as follows:1.The Supercritical Fluid Extraction of tanshinones from Salvia Miltiorrhiza Bge was studies. To better evaluate the SFE products,a reverse-phase HPLC method for the simultaneous analysis of four tanshinones was developed. The method was proved to be simple, precise and sensitive. The orthogonal test was designed to optimize the SFE of the four tanshinones from S.miltiorrhiza.The optimal process condition was extracting at 40 MPa,50℃and with SCF-CO2 flow rate of 25 L/h for 1h.Compared with the other processes, the SFE had the advantages of higher efficiency and less organic solvent consumption.2.The Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Schisandra chinensis was studies. The processing parameters were optimized by using single factor design. The optimal condition of Schisandra chinensis was extracting at 35 MPa and 50℃with the SCF-CO2 flow rate of 25 L/h.The pilot-scale experiments were investigated under the optimal conditions. The volatile compounds of extracts obtained by SFE,steam distillation, soxhlet extraction and ultrasound extraction were analyzed by GC-MS.37, 45,27 and 37 compounds were identified respectively. Most of these compounds were sesquiterpenoids, aromatics and monoterpenoids. It was proved that the SFE had systematical and wide applicability and superiority in the TCM field. It has the advantages of high efficiency, lower extraction temperature and less solvent consumption. It can be widely used in the TCM industry.
