Objectives:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture in treating Chronic Pelvic Inflammation Disease (CPID). we treated the participants in control group with medicine, and then compared the differences between two groups from side-effects,compliance,recurrence rate and so on. We discussed literature study about CPID in two points, and this offered a new kind of ideas for the treatment of CPID.Methods:According to the diagnosis criteria on《Guiding Principle of Chinese Herbs and New Medicine Clinical Research on Chronic Pelvic Inflammation》(2002)and《Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecologic Special Disease in TCM》(2005), we randomized the participants in two groups: the Observation group and the Control group, each group had 50 cases. The Observation group was treated with acupuncture (including abdominal acupuncture and body acupuncture), and the Control group was treated with medicine. The participants in the Observation group was treated once every two days, and 30min every time, and a course of treatment was a menstrual cycle (we did the treatment in the intermenstruum, and stopped before the menarche), and the treatment lasted for three courses. The Control group was treated with fukeqinajin tablets, and we eat it with warm water, 6 pieces every time, and three times every day, and a course of treatment was 14 days, and the treatment lasted for three courses. Efficiency evaluation: According to the efficiency evaluation criteria on《Guiding Principle of Chinese Herbs and New Medicine Clinical Research on Chronic Pelvic Inflammation》, the efficiency evaluation as follows: cured: symptoms and signs were disappeared, and gynecological examination was normal, and integral scores was 0; significant effective: symptoms were disappeared and the gynecological examination was significant improved, and post-score was decreased for 2/3 or more compared with pre-score; Effective: symptoms and signs and gynecological examination were relieved, and post-score was decreased for 1/3 or more compared with pre-score. Ineffective: no improvements after treatment. The total effective rate was the cured rate add the significant effective rate add effective rate. We observed the symptom and sign integral scores of the two groups, and compared the pre-scores with post-scores in each group, then compared the differences between the two groups. We observed the recurrence of the symptoms and signs one month after the treatment. Results:After the treatment, there were 49cases in Observation group, and we cured 17cases, and the significant effective was 20cases, and the effective was 9cases, and 3cases were ineffective. In contrast, there were 49cases in Control group, and we cured 7cases, and the significant effective was 14cases, and the effective was 18cases, and 10cases were ineffective, so the difference between two groups was significantly different (P<0. 05) , so the result showed that acupuncture was more effective than medicine in treating CPID.In the one month follow-up period after the treatment, in the Observation group, we cured 19cases, and the significant effective was 21cases, and the effective was 7cases, and 2cases were ineffective, so the total effective rate was 95.92%; In contrast, in the Control group, we cured 3cases, and the significant effective had 18cases, and the effective was 17cases, and 11cases were ineffective, so the total effective rate was 77. 55%, the difference between two groups was very significantly different (P<0. 01) ,so the result showed that acupuncture was much more effective than medicine in treating CPID.After the treatment, the Chinese symptoms single score and total score were very significantly different compared with pre-score in each group (P<0. 01) , and the result showed that the Observation group was much more effective than the Control group. Conclusion:Compared with medicine, acupuncture was more effective in improving Chinese symptoms. The follow-up result showed that the Observation group can keep long clinical effect. In summary, acupuncture has more significantly clinical effect, and this offer a new way in treating CPID.
