Expressions And Prognostic Significance Of Estrogen Receptor-α(ER-α),Estrogen Receptor-β(ER-β),Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) And HER2 In Endometriosis

Objective:To investigate the expression and prognostic significance of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),estrogen receptor-α(ER-α),estrogen receptor-β(ER-β)and HER2 in recurrent endometriosis patients.Methods:79 patients with endometriosis received surgery were divided into two groups:15 cases of the recurrent group and 64 cases of the un-recurrent group according to the diagnostic criteria of relapse.The control group is of ten simple cysts of ovary.The ER-α,ER-β,VEGF and HER2 were detected by immunohistochemistry methods and then follow-up data were analyzed。Results:1.The positive expression rate of VEGF in the ectopic endometrium is 79.75%,and 10%in simple cysts of ovary。the difference has highly statistics significance (P＜0.01)。2.In ectopic endometrium group and simple cysts of ovary,the positive expressions of ER-αrespectively is 45.57%and 30%,the difference is non-statistics significant (P＞0.05)。3.The positive expression rate of ER-βis higher than that in simple cysts of ovary,the difference is non-statistics significant(P＞0.05)。4.HER2 protein does not have the expression in ectopic endometrium group and in simple cysts of ovary。5.In the recurrent group and unrecurrent group,the positive expressions of VEGF respectively is 86.67%and 78.12%;the difference has non-significance(P＞0.05);but the high expression rate of VEGF in the recurrent group is higher than that in un-recurrent,the difference is significant(P＜0.05)。6.In the ectopic endometrium ER-αhigh expresser its VEGF expression rate also corresponding high,ER-αlow expresser its VEGF expression rate also corresponding low(r=0.54,P＜0.01);But ER-βactually does not have this tendency with the VEGF expression(r=0.35,P＞0.05)。 7.The positive expression rate of ERαin the recurrent group is higher than that in un-recurrent group,but non-statistics significance(P＞0.05);the high expression rate of ER-αin the recurrent group and unrecurrent group is different,but also not to have the significance(P＞0.05)。8.The positive expression rate of ER-βin the recurrent group and un-recurrent group has the difference but non-statistics significance(P＞0.05);the high expression rate of ER-βin the recurrent group and unrecurrent group is different,but also not to have the significance(P＞0.05)。Conclusion:1.VEGF may be involved in the pathogenesis and progress and relapse of endometriosis,Detection of VEGF expression may be useful for predicting prognosis in endometriosis patients。2.ER-αand ER-βare related with blood vessel production,and may also play role in the regulation of blood vessel production,and ER-αmay also play more important role in the adjustment of blood vessel production。3.ER-α,ER-βpossibly play important role in the pathophysiology and development of endometriosis,but it has no close relation with recrudescence of endometriosis。4.HER2 possibly does not participate in the adjustment of blood vessel production and has no role in the development of endometriosis。and it has no close relation with recrudescence of endometriosis。...
