Objective To study and compare effects of rosuvastatin and atorvatatin on plasma interleukin-18(IL-18) and C-creactive protein(CRP) levels and on regulating blood lipid level in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods All patients were divided into three groups, including 30 cases of ACS patients in rosuvastatin and atorvastatin group each, and 20 cases of normal control group.Rosuvastatin group was given rosuvastatin 10mg and atorvatatin group was given atorvatatin 20mg each night for 6 weeks.Levels of LDL-C,HDL-C IL-18, and CRP were detected before and after treatment. Results The serum levels of LDL-C,HDL-C,IL-18,and CRP were distinctively different before and after treatment in two ACS groups(P<0.05).Those indicators were distinctively different in results after treatment in two groups(t=2.39,20.54, t′=5.44,4.21,P<0.05).IL-18 and CRP are the indexes for inflammation of atherosclerosis,it plays an important role in plaque stability. Conclusion Both rosuvastatin and atorvastatin could significantly decrease the serum levels of LDL-C,IL-18,and CRP,and increase HDL-C in patients with acute coronary syndrome and balance atherosclerotic plaque.Whereas rosuvastatin has stronger influence than atorvastatin.
