Objective To explore the changes and clinical significances of serum oxidative low density lipoprotein(OXLDL) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) levels in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods By using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method,OXLDL and sICAM-1 were measured in 20 acute myocardial infarction(AMI),20 unstable angina pectoris(UAP),20 stable anginapectoris(SAP) and 20 controls. Results The concentrations of OXLDL and sICAM-1 in serum samples with CHD increased significantly. There were significant differences between CHD and controls(t' =7.74,7.04,P<0.01).The serum levels of OXLDL and sICAM-1 in patients with AMI were much higher than those in UAP,SAP and the controls(F=37.85,27.37,q=6.14~14.09,P<0.01),The OXLDL and sICAM-1 levels were much higher in patients with UAP than those in SAP and the controls(F=37.85,27.37,q=4.74~7.67,P<0.01), the levels of OXLDL and sICAM-1 in patients between SAP and the controls were significant different(F=37.85,27.37,q=2.93,2.90,P<0.05).The level of OXLDL in patients with CHD was positively correlated with sICAM-1(rAMI=0.862;rUAP= 0.825;rSAP=0.770,P<0.01).The areas under the ROC curve(AUCROC) were all greater than 0.9 in AMI and UAP groups. The sensitivity and specificity of OXLDL and sICAM-1 is separately 0.90/0.90 and 0.90/0.95 in patients with AMI.The sensitivity and specificity of OXLDL and sICAM-1 is separately 0.85/0.90 and 0.80/0.85 in patients with UAP.Conclusions The changes of OXLDL and sICAM-1 had obvious value and higher accuracy on the diagnosis of AMI and UAP.Both of them were positively correlated. The changes may be helpful in indicating of enhancement of inflammation and the severity of coronary heart disease.
