There is a great deal of excess uric acid in blood of patients with kidney failure.The cumulated uric acid can be removed effectively by using blood purification techniques so that the toxicosis symptom of patients can be mitigated.It is an attractive research subject in the field of biomedicine engineering to prepare polymer adsorption material with high property in order to eliminate excess endogenesis toxin.Bilirubin is a principal degradation product of heme catabolisma.The free bilirubin is a lipophilic endotoxin,and under normal physiological conditions,it is transported to liver by albumin for conjugation and subsequent excretion.However,in certain pathological conditions such as jaundice,the amount of unconjugated bilirubin in blood increases and the elevated bilirubin level interferes with the normal functioning of the cellular machinery and eventually manifests systemic toxicity,and further may result in fatal kernicterus.In this work,a new type of functional polymer adsorption material of PEI/MCC was synthesized with polyethyleneimine(PEI)as functional group and modified cellulose as carrier, PEI was grafted on cellulose by using epoxy chloropropane.PEI/MCC was characterized by XRD,FT-IR,Element analyzer,SEM and its adsorption for uric acid and bilirubin was studied. Experimental results showed that the optimal synthetically condition was that the ration of MCC to PEI was 1:6 by weight,reaction temperature was 70°C,reaction time was 12 hours and pH=11 sodium hydroxide solution 40 mL,under nitrogen atmosphere.The product was filtered and bathed to pH value 7 by water,then was in vacuums dry at 40℃over 24 h to get white-to-brown power.The nitrogen content of PEI/MCC was 5.27 wt%and the XRD showed that the degree of crystallinity of PEI/MCC was 78.36%under this condition.Infrared spectra showed that PEI was grafted macromolecular chains in the cellulose surface,forming a chemical bonding of the PEI/MCC.The crystal structure and surface structure of the product has changed.PEI/MCC has the effective adsorption characteristic to the uric acid and the bilirubin.It is one kind adsorption material that has dual adsorption characteristic.Satic adsorption experiment showed that PEI/MCC had strong adsorption ability to uric acid and bilirubin,the adsorption capacity of uric acid was increased in a linear pattern with the nitrogen content and the max adsorption capability was 9.53 mg/g for 6 hours and the max adsorption capacity for bilirubin was 9.23 mg/g and adsorption equilibrium reached after 4 hours. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cellulose, Polyethyleneimine, uric acid, bilirubin, medical adsorption material | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
