| Objective: To investigate the relationship between brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(baPWV)and uric acid, bilirubinin patients with essential hypertension. Methods:The data of patients admitted to the cadre ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were collected. The patients’ age, gender, body mass index, uric acid, triglyceride, cholesterol, total bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, direct bilirubin, glycosylated hemoglobin percentag,brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity and so on,and all the above data were statistically analyzed. Results: The age, uric acid, total bilirubin, indirect bilirubinand, glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)percentage in essential hypertension with arteriosclerosis were significantly higher than those without arteriosclerosis, the difference was significant(P<0.05).In essential hypertension group, age, uric acid, and bilirubin were correlated with brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity. In addition, after adjustment for age and HbA1 c percentage factors, the uric acid was positively correlated with brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity, while total bilirubinand indirect bilirubin were negatively correlated with brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity in those patients, and the result showed statistical significance, the difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: Uric acid, total bilirubin and indirect bilirubin are associated with baPWV in patients with essential hypertension, and uric acid is elevated.Total bilirubin and indirect bilirubin are risk factors of atherosclerosis in essential hypertensive groups.Uric acid and bilirubin should be concerned while reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. |
