Objective: To analysis the outcome of patients with cerebral cavernous angioma who had undergone stereoratic radiosurgey and to evaluate the benefite of the tratement.Methods: the clinical outcomes were described for 96 consecutive case of CA treated with the Gamma knife. Their therapeutic effect and the related factors were analysed.Result: The mean follow-up period was 4.3 yeas. Two died. Two had underwent resections after radiosurgery. Six cases hemorrhaged again after radiosugery. Thirty-three cases with the complaint of epilepsy had cured or improved clinical conditions, and two had aggravated. Tewenty-three patients had the angiomas shrinkage on the follow-up images.Lots of patients with clinical symptom had cured or improved. Forty-one patients had the brain edema. Five patients got worse.Conclusion: Gamma knife is a safe,effective,microinvasive treatment option for cerebral cavernous angioma.
