Investigation And Analysis Of The Nursing Undergraduate Students' Career Decision-making Self-efficacy

ObjectiveTo examine the characteristics and determinations of the nursing undergraduate students' career decision-making self-efficacy;To find out the influencing factors of the career decision-making self-efficacy of the nursing undergraduate students.MethodsThe research sample was consisted of 252 nursing undergraduate students from China Medical University.All quantitative data of questionnaire survey was analyzed by SPSS13.0 for testing its reliability and validity of the scale.To examine the characteristics and determinations of the nursing undergraduate students' career decision-making self-efficacy by using some Statistical methods,such as T test and one-way ANOVA.Results1,The whole level of career decision-making self-efficacy of the nursing undergraduate students of China Medical University was above the middle (87.7137±12.05196),but there existed distinct differences in individual,especially on the dimensions of problem-solving(20.8427±3.27106) and message-gathering (12.9758±3.06596).2,There were significant differences in grade(F=5.394,p＜0.05),and whether the students had or hadn't gotten career experiences(t=5.157,p＜0.05) about the career decision-making self-efficacy.There was significant difference in whether the students were or weren't only child about the dimension of problem-solving(t=2.498,p＜0.05). There were no differences in whether the students came from rural or urban areas and family economic conditions(t=0.306,p＞0.05;F=0.587,p＞0.05). 3,Stepwise regression analysis showed that the major influencing factors on the nursing undergraduate student' Career Decision-making Self-efficacy were career experiences(t=-5.594,p＜0.000) and mother s' educational background(t=2.477,p＜0.05).Conclusions1,The whole level of career decision-making self-efficacy of the nursing undergraduate students of China Medical University is above the middle,but there exists distinct differences in individual2,There is significant difference in career decision-making self-efficacy as grade, singleton,working experience and no significant difference in career decision-making self-efficacy as family condition.3,Mother's education level and working experience is minus correlated with one's career decision-making self-efficacy.
