1.An epidemiologic study on AIDS among STD clinic attendants in Jiading District,ShanghaiObjective:To estimate the prevalence of AIDS/HIV among STD clinic attendees in Jiading District and to explore risk factors of AIDS/HIV infection in this population. Methods:Four STD clinics Jiading District were selected by convenience sampling. A face to face interview was administered using a quantitative questionnaire which contained socio-demographic characteristics,knowledge of AIDS,and sexual behaviors and so on.Venous blood was collected for testing.Results:A total of 419 STD clinic attendees were investigated and blood samples were collected from them. And the positive rate of HIV,TPHA,HSV-2 and HPV were 0.24%,14.3%,22.5%and 21.2%,respectively.Male,26-35 years old,better education got higher score of AIDS knowledge than others.The rate of condom use was low.Condom was used more frequently in commercial sex.Female was the risk factors of TPHA,HSV-2 and HPV. Conclusions:The rate of condom use should be increased.Reducing the occurrence of risk sexual behavior is the essential way for preventing HIV/STD infections.2.An epidemiologic study on AIDS among Female Sex Works in Jiading District, ShanghaiObjective:To estimate the prevalence of AIDS/HIV among Female Sex Works in Jiading District and to explore risk factors of AIDS/HIV infection in this population. Methods:109 entertainment establishments were selected by convenience sampling. A face to face interview was administered using a quantitative questionnaire which contained socio-demographic characteristics,and sexual behaviors.Venous blood was collected for testing.Results:A total of 452 Female Sex Works were investigated and blood samples were collected from them.The seroprevalence of TPHA,HSV-2 and HPV are 3.5%,5.1 and 4.4%,respectively.Condoms were used no more frequently in commercial sexual behaviors.The populations not in marrage are the risk factors of HSV-2.Conclusions:The seroprevalence of HIV,HSV-2 and HPV is relatively low and syphilis infection is relatively high among female sex workers in Jiading District. Further health education and condom promotion programs are needed in order to maintain the low prevaleve of HIV,HSV-2 and HPV and to further decrease syphilis infections.
