1.Study on herpes simplex virus type 2 infection and risk factors among STD clinic attendees in ShanghaiObjective:To estimate the prevalence of herpes simplex virus 2(HSV-2) among STD clinic attendees in Shanghai and to explore risk factors of HSV-2 infection in this population.Methods:Five STD clinics in three districts of Shanghai were selected by convenience sampling.A face to face interview was administered using a quantitative questionnaire which contained socio-demographic characteristics,knowledge of AIDS, and sexual behaviors and so on.Venous blood was collected for testing.Results:A total of 616 STD clinic attendees were investigated and blood samples were collected from them.The seroprevalence of HSV-2 is 23.9%.And the positive rate of HIV, TPHA and RPR were 0.3%,26.0%and 9.1%,respectively.Male,better education got higher score of AIDS knowledge than others.The rate of condom use was low.
